Q: Are there bugs and animals around??
A: YES! This retreat is hosted on an eco-friendly property that values nature and sustainability. This means: you are immersed in nature, creatures are present at times, and there is no AC. This is part of the sacred experience and in our opinion why we come here!
Q: How do I get there?
A: You will need to book your round-trip flight to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO Airport). From there you will need to either book a shuttle, or a charter flight and taxi to Puerto Viejo. The shuttle ride is about 4-5 hours. The charter flight to Limon is approximately 30 min + a 1 hour taxi. There are also private drivers, car rental, and a national bus system (most economical). These options you can look up on your own or email me for additional info. *Plan travel time into your schedule! You will need to be at the retreat center by 3pm. You may want to say one night in SJ to give yourself more time and ease.
Q: Should I extend my stay in Cost Rica?
A: This is a HUGE HELL YES! I purposely created the retreat to be less than a week so you have time to travel and ideally time to enjoy this incredible country on your own. You can book an Airbnb or hostel in Puerto Viejo to soak up the rich nightlife and beaches, head to the neighboring town Cahuita, take a 45 min bus ride to Bocos del Toro, Panama, or head back up to San Jose and then explore that pacific side or Arenal volcano. This country has many terrains, cultures, and adventures to enjoy!
